"No heart can ever be truly understood. Not even your own." Mare, Glass Sword

I am not sure if I like how this author writes though. In other #dystopian books (e.g.The Hunger Games, Divergent Series etc), although it also ends with a cliffhanger (which I really like), both #RedQueen and Glass Sword ends with the villain winning against the heroes. In #divergent and hunger games, most often than not, heroes always outsmart the villains. (#Spoiler alert from here onwards; you have been warned.) In Red Queen, #Mare and #Cal ended up being put in an execution arena and Mavy getting the crown. In #GlassSword, Mare ends up where she said she wouldnt ever be for anyone, but eats her words, ending up under Maven's clutches, put to shame in public to keep Cal and Kilorn free from him. Mavy is so obssessed with her. I should've seen that coming when I heard of the third book's title (i.e. King's Cage). I was hoping the cage would be Maven's. I mean #Maven's Cage as in where he is caged, but not how it actually turned out (Maven's Cage for Mare). I guess I can give Aveyard an A for the Plot Twists. I hate her for killing #Shade. Haha Shade is like the brother I always wanted to have. A dream that i think can never be. Haha. Oh well. #doremireads #bookstagram
